Welcome!

My name is Gena Falcon. This is my 9th year teaching in Lake Worth ISD, and my first year to teach at Marine Creek Elementary. I have taught for the past twelve years in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade along with working 2 years as an elementary librarian. Before coming to Lake Worth ISD, I taught 1st grade for several years in Fort Worth ISD. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Sciences from The University of North Texas. My elementary and early childhood certification is from Texas Wesleyan University. I am a native Texan born in Fort Worth, Texas. My early years were spent growing up in the City of Lake Worth living by the lake. I have an extreme love and respect for all animals. I have a beautiful male Doberman Pinscher that I rescued from a nearby animal shelter along with my heavy set cat. I enjoy reading my Kindle, shopping for antiques, watching old movies, listening to all types of music, exercising, and visiting the state of Hawaii. My belief is that all children can learn no matter the obstacle. The early years of a child’s life are the most important ones. These are important because they set the course for their future. Young children need to be surrounded by early literacy and have a nurturing environment. I am looking forward to working with your child this year and working with you to make this year a memorable one.
